How can we help? 👋

Creating Meta Lead Ad Form

Walk through the process of setting up a Meta Lead Ad Form after creating an Action.

After you have set up our Meta Lead Ad Integration, you’re ready to create Meta Lead Ad Form within the Facebook Ad Manager. You should ensure you have already created your Campaign in AdvocacyAI. If you are unsure how to create a new Campaign, please refer to our help documentation on Campaigns.

Within Facebook Ad manager, you will need to navigate to create your Meta Lead Ad Forms. If you are unsure how to create a Meta Lead Ad, please refer to the Meta help document about creating a Lead Ad. Below are things to keep in mind with creating your Meta Lead Ad Form to integrate successfully with your AdvocacyAI Campaign Form.

Things to know with the AdvocacyAI Integration

The Form created in Meta will ultimately need to mirror what your AdvocacyAI form has required. Because the Meta Lead Ad Form integrates directly with your AdvocacyAI form, any setting you have enabled on your Campaign in AdvocacyAI will still work on your Meta Lead Ad form.

🔎

If you have an Email Campaign with SmartSend, the submission that came through your Meta Lead Ad form will hold the email until an optimal time as it would a direct submission through AdvocacyAI’s form.

⚠️

Be sure to review the Settings section before creating your form! It has its own section below with the necessary steps!

Settings (select before Create Form)

In the top right of the page, select Settings.

Within the Form Settings popup window, select Tracking parameters, and then Add Parameter.

For Parameter Name input “adai_campaign” exactly as it is typed in the quotation marks.

For the Parameter value, you will need to input the ID of your Campaign. This needs to be retrieved from within AdvocacyAI from Meta Lead Ad Connector section.

Your settings should look like the below. You can enter this at any step of the form creation, but you must do this before selecting Create Form on the final step.

After you have input the Parameter name and value, you can select Done and continue to create your form.

💡

Be sure to double check your Parameter value with your AdvocacyAI Campaign before selecting Done.

Form Type

All Meta Lead Ad Form types work with the AdvocacyAI Integration.

Intro

Within the Intro step, the Greeting section is typically where we recommend putting any language that tells the advocate that they are contacting their elected official by submitting the form.

Questions

The Questions section is where you will add the fields for submission. While creating the Lead Ad Form, keep in mind the following important flags. TLDR: Mirror the fields required on the AdvocacyAI Campaign Form in your Meta Lead Ad Form.

  • All Campaigns:
    • Enable First Name and Last Name (rather than a combined Full Name field
    • Confirm Email is required for submission
  • A Campaign with Votermatch or Targets:
    • Ensure that Address fields (at a minimum Street Address and Zip) are added to your Form.
  • An Email Campaign with Federal Targets:
    • Ensure Phone Number and Prefix are required on the form

Privacy Policy

💡

Be sure to have your Privacy Policy ready and available via a weblink as it is required for Meta Lead Ad creation, just like it is with AdvocacyAI.

Ending

The content for this section can be filled out as you see fit. Before hitting Create Form be sure you have input the Parameter Name and Parameter value as laid out in the Settings section!!

Test Your Integration

This is a feature designed for more advanced Meta users. If you want to ensure You’ll need an existing form to test. Use Meta’s tool to make sure your CRM integration is working. You know it is successful when the HTTP code returns a 200 code.

If you are unable to successfully run this test or you receive a failure status, please reach out to help@advocacyai.com.

Common Reasons for Failure at this Test

  1. The Business Asset Group isn’t created with permissions for the Facebook Page and Ad Account (from the initial setup of the Integration).
  1. An incorrect CampaignID is input into the Parameter Value in Settings.
