Actions: Campaign Widget

Learn how to set up and edit your Actions Widget, the final step to complete before launching it!

Within this step, you get to choose the options for your Widget. The Widget section is all the elements of the Campaign that are specific to your advocates submissions (the section highlighted below in red). After you have customized your Widget, you will also want to customize your Action Page from your published Campaign (the sections highlighted below in green). Learn more about how to customize that at this help document.

Widget Options

The Widget Options may vary slightly depending on the type of Campaign that you are creating. Please reference the Campaign-specific documents for questions about fields not outlined below. By default, all Campaigns will collect First Name, Last Name, and Email to create the advocate record within the system.

  • Collect Phone Number?
    • This turns on the field for advocates to enter their phone number for submission. It will be an optional value for submission.
  • Collect Address?
    • This enables the option for address collection for Campaigns without VoterMatch enabled.
    • 💡

      If you do not see this option, it means that you have enabled VoterMatch on your Campaign.

  • Display Campaign Goal?
    • This will show a progress bar on your Widget for advocates to see a number of submissions your organization is trying to get.
    • The system will make it appear as some submissions have already occurred so advocates never see 0.
    • When the Campaign gets within 85% to the goal entered here, it will automatically adjust the goal up to ensure advocates still have a goal to meet.
  • Add URL redirect?
    • This allows you to set a new URL to direct the advocate to after they have completed the action in the Campaign.
  • Set Campaign Points?
    • If you are using the Gamification feature, this allows you to assign a set number of points for taking the action of this Campaign. Gamification is a feature that can be controlled further under the Advocates section.

  • Confirm Email?
    • ⚠️

      By selecting this option, advocates will need to log into their email and acknowledge a confirmation link before they can take the action.

    • This is best utilized when your forms have been targeted by fraudulent submissions or have sensitive matters that you want to ensure the submitter has access to the email address submitted on your Campaign.
  • Opt-In Checkbox?
    • By selecting the Opt-In Checkbox, this allows you to include the customized language for email addresses collected to be opted into your email program. All Campaigns will have a default message to fulfill Opt-In requirements for email deliverability.
    • Once you have toggled this field on, a new section will appear below that allows you customize your opt-in language.
  • Add Custom Fields?
    • Custom Fields can now be added to your Campaigns to collect more information from advocates with this submission!
    • When turned on, a new Custom Field section will appear below. You can add up to 2 Custom Fields to the Campaign for collection.
    • Custom Fields must be created in the Advocates section.

Write Widget Header and Widget Copy

Within this first section, you can customize the Header and Title on the widget of your Campaign. You will see prefilled options that are editable. Additionally, you will see the Background Color, Header Color, and Title Color based on the settings in the Design tab of the Account section.

In the next section, you can customize the Body text of your Campaign as well as your Button details. It will also be prefilled based on the Information for AI as well as the settings in the Design tab of the Account section.

Write Petition Copy and Widget Thank You Page

The Petition Copy section is the text that will display for any advocates who attempt to submit the Campaign either without a representative in the Target (when Targets are required) or outside of the Campaign’s Start or End Date. For advocates who reach this page, an advocate record will still be created in the system.

The Thank You Page will display to all advocates who successfully complete the Campaign with a representative in the Target (when Targets are required) and during the Campaign’s Start or End Date.

Preview Your Advocate Widget

As you are editing your widget, you can see how the widget will look to your advocates in the section in the top right. Whenever you add, remove, or edit a field, the preview section will reflect that change. You can preview all aspects of the widget by selecting the arrows to scroll between each element you’ve just edited.

When all the elements of your Widget are ready, select the Launch Campaign button below the Thank You Page editor!

Next Steps

Technically your Campaign is ready to be shared when you select the Launch Campaign. If you do not want to customize the Action Page, you are ready to share this Campaign!
