Learn how to complete the first step of your Campaign.
Action Setup
While setting up the Campaign, you'll need to provide:
- Campaign Name
- Internal description
- Information for AI
- State and End Dates
Important note: The Campaign Name field is public! This means your supporters will see your name field, so keep that in mind when setting up your naming convention here.
The "Information for AI" section is very important as well. The more detailed your description, the more context the AI will have in the generation of your content. AI is default turned on for all new Campaigns. This is controlled by the toggle switch next to the robot at the top of the Action Setup section.
All Campaigns must have a Start Date upon creation, but an End Date is optional and will default to "Ongoing Campaign." If a supporter visits the landing page you have created outside the dates specified, the form will default to a petition using the “petition fallback text” in your campaign settings. This is written by AI, but should be checked and verified to be accurate before launch.
Campaign Details
Each different Campaign type will have specific options for Campaign Details. Please reference the Campaign specific help document for the details of each different Campaign type.
All Campaigns have the option to Enable VoterMatch, which will attempt to match your incoming advocates to our database of existing vote history, demographic, and issue-support data. A successful match requires address fields on your widget for submissions.
When VoterMatch is enabled, you will not see the option to enable or disable “Collect Address” on the Widget Options in the final step of Campaign creation. A guide to VoterMatch is coming soon!
Campaign Tags
Add a tag to your campaign to easily label and segment participants of a specifc initiative. This will ensure that every advocate that participates in this Campaign has the Tag(s) added to their advocate record. Don’t see a Tag you would like to use? Tags can also be created during Campaign setup! Tags are managed in the Advocate section. A guide to Tags is coming soon!
Setting Up Targets
For Email, Letter, Call, and Social Campaigns, you will need to set up the targeted elected officials which advocates are contacting. To learn more about setting up Targets, please visit this guide.
