🤔 About AdvocacyAI Fundraising Emails
When an advocate makes a donation through AdvocacyAI, the platform will send a series of automated emails.
- Donation Confirmation: a receipt for a donation made through AdvocacyAI.
- Donation Thank You: a personalized, thank you email for a donation made through AdvocacyAI. We recommend that you customize this email with more information about your program, the fundraising campaign, or how the donation helps your organization.
- Tier Match Notification: an email that goes to your internal team when an advocate is matched with a donor tier. You can specify which tiers generate this notification during the tier set up. Read more about donor tiers here.
This section allows you to create templates for all emails, but you can customize the Receipt and Thank You email for individual donation pages as well. Learn more about that here.
📧 Let’s Customize Your Donation Emails
Make sure you are logged into your AdvocacyAI account. On the navigation bar, locate the Fundraise section and click on the “Settings” tab.
Select the email you wish to customize in Donation Emails section by clicking the corresponding button.
In the sections below, we’ll show you how to customize each email.
Donation Confirmation Emails (Receipt)
A donation confirmation email is the receipt your donor gets every time they make a donation through AdvocacyAI.
You can customize the email’s subject line and body by clicking on each section and editing the text. You can use the following variables to personalize the message:
- DonorName: The full name of your donor (first name and last name).
- Amount: The amount donated.
- TransactionID: The ID of the donation transaction.
- DonationDate: The date when the donation was made.
- CampaignName: The name of the AdvocacyAI donation page that the advocate made a donation on.
- AccountName: The name of your account. You can see a preview of the name on the top right corner of the platform. Email help@advocacyai.com to request a change to your account name.
You can use the “Send Test” button to send yourself a test email. Make sure to click the “Save Template” button to finalize your email.

- AdvocateEmail: The email address of the matched advocate.
- TierName: The name of the tier the advocate was matched to. You can edit this in the Tiers tab.
- SuggestedAmount: Our suggested donation ask amount based on the advocate’s estimated giving capacity. Read more about how AdvocacyAI donor intelligence works here.
- EstimatedCapacity: An advocate’s estimated financial ability to give, measured through their wealth, assets, and liabilities. Read more about how AdvocacyAI donor intelligence works here.
